Assalamu'alaikum! So.. I was browsing google today for some new art and I came across this "Muslimah" who posts some pretty controversial Islamic art. I found it quite offensive and confusing. Let me know what you all think about this "art"? (click to enlarge the pictures)

alaikum asalaam:) Ive heard lots about this artist. Her names Sarah Maple. Never have i heard somethin about her being muslims tho. Her work is pretty offensive, i havent read lots about her so i dont really understand where she is coming from =\ it seems as if shes challenging the islamic concept of women covering themselves up. Alot of her work is mixed with sexuality, shes not an artist i admire to be honest. xxxx
ReplyDeleteWa Alaikum Assalam!! I just happened to run across her googling. Yeah, it was on her page and some other things i looked into about her being Muslim. Yes it does and I found it very offensive, especially as a new convert who is so free, loving, happy and complete due to Islam. I'm not agreeing with her art work at all. Thank you for the comment!!
